flowers flowers flowers....

Last month we took the kids to this amazing tulip garden at Nielson's Grove in Orem. BEAUTIFUL! We try and get over there every spring to see their garden.

I these little munchkins
This is such a typical Thomas moment. If you look closely, you'll see dirt in his fingers and nails.

Of course he already got to the dirt..very typical Thomas moment as well.
And there goes the tulip.
Our little beauty!

Poor daddy's ears. This is also very typical of Thomas when he's on Daddy's shoulders he holds Derek's ears like a saddle. Derek's ears are ALWAYS SO sore after. hahaha.

Speaking of flowers. I made this pillow for Emma last night. I think it turned out sweet. Some sewing involved but mostly hot glue, quite simple. Found the idea here

Oh, and these beauties came from OUR rose bushes. I love that we have roses we can enjoy. Emma is outside a few times a day admiring the roses and get SO excited when she sees more and more everyday.

home ideas.....Master

master bedroom

Ok, so Derek and I am always thinking about home improvements. We get to it whenever we can. It's a VERY slow work in progress. There is one improvement after another and another and......you get the idea :)
So, I'm reaching out for some ideas. I know MANY of my friends/family out there have AWESOME taste for home decor and improvements. With home decor, I know what I love when I see it but it's SO hard for me to know how to go about it in my own home. I would like your opinion on what you think we should paint our night stands and dresser. This furniture was from my bedroom growing up. I am having a hard time deciding what to paint them. Also, the lamps. I may spray paint them black, shinier black and find shades in a pretty color. Ideas?
I got this shabby chic white bedding (I LOVE WHITE). I will have accents of color. My favorite color right now are pretty aqua and robin egg blue colors. Our walls are a basic tan. One day we will be putting up chunky crown and casing. I have a few ideas on wall color. They are the following...
Benjamin Moore- baltic gray

Benjamin Moore- willow creek
Benjamin Moore- Plymouth rock

I know they are VERY similar but have enough difference which makes it tough for me to choose. What do you think?

Memorial of our heroes

First off, I know I'm a day late in posting this but this rock is a very special rock. It's a rock my Grandpa Mills grabbed while he was there, on D-day at Omaha Beach, June 6th 1944. He marked it and put it with the rest of his rock collection of all the areas in the world he's been. This rock is dear to me. It reminds me of ALL the stories Grandpa would share with us grand kids of his war stories, particularly of D-day. He truly was courageous. I love and miss him.

On Saturday of Memorial weekend, we visited a few grave sites.
This was at Grandpa Mills. Here are Emma and Thomas sitting with Grandma Mills, we celebrated his life with looking at pictures and listening to a cd of him playing the piano.

Love this picture.
My mom, sister Kim, Grandma Mills, me, Thomas and Emma.

We kept our tradition from last year of Emma playing the harmonica, just like Grandpa.

I brought some pictures to display of our Grandpappy.

Look at those legs....hahahhaha

Thomas of course insisted on pushing all the buttons, including mine. :)

Here we are visiting Grandpa Olsen (Derek's step-Grandpa)

On Monday, we went to Trafalga where we have passes. Fun day.

Poor Daddy's ears.

Emma was so brave to try the rock climbing wall. She did so well.

Daddy went along.

Later, we went and visited Grandpa Frazier's grave. This is Derek's grandpa who he has never met. He was a well respected man.
