GIRLS CAMP!!!

Ok, so I had the GREATEST opportunity of going to Girls Camp FINALLY! The last two years of being 2nd Counselor in Young Women's Presidency I haven't been able to attend. Two years ago, we were in Germany and last year I was 7 months pregnant. I LOVE our girls SO much. It was seriously so amazing to be out there amidst all the beauty at Camp Mia Shalom wilderness where I went in my good old Young Women years. Talk about walking down memory lane. I loved seeing how the girls and leaders bonded so much and could share in each other's fun personlities, great spirit, and testimonies.
If any of you knew me back in my young women years know how much I LOVED camp and what a goof I was (imagine that). Our stake theme was 'Olympics' and our ward chose the country India. We were AWESOME dressing up in our Sari's, bindi dots, big earring, etc... All the wards had to sing "I am a child of God" in our language and since Hindi hasn't been translated in the song, I taught the girls the song in sign language. Our ward mascot was a big Indian Elephant, her name was Sheeba! She was beautiful and was included in our crazy ward skit. I had the opportunity of re-living my crazy dancing moves in the skit with one of our young women Danielle. We also had a fun Olympic games like 3 legged race, canoeing, tube toss, relay races, etc...
At 5am Thursday morning (Pioneer day) we were awaken by the 'mobs' and were taken on an amazing hike to watch the sunrise and be spiritually fed. I love our Young Women so much and feel so grateful to have gone and experience camp with these girls!
Maybe I'll find some old camp pics from my old days and post them too...maybe! :)

No one DIDN'T know you in our stake young women's world...all a lot of it had to do with your crazy Carlton Dance you did every year.

You surely did make girls camp more memorable!!!

Hey Again!

Skydiving at iFly up in Ogden was $50 a person for two one-minute flys. It was REDICULOUSLY fun. And worth every penny!

Check out their website...www.iflyutah.com

There's also indoor surfing, too. $30 an hour per person!

Your daughter just continues to stay on the top of my "cutest baby girls ever" list! Dustin agrees!

What a fun theme! I only went to camp once when I was younger and our theme was Jamaica. Ya Mon! What a small world that you're in my sister in laws ward. I absolutely adore Teresa. Your family is adorable. It's good to see you're doing so well.

Oh, that looks so fun. I miss all those girls and you! That would have been so fun. You are such a great leader for the YW. So, we now have met your friends, Doug and Jackie Shafer (Doug served with Derek). They are in our ward! SO fun. I love the connections we make with people out here! Hope things are going well for you!

It was great to see you again, my trek Ma ;) Haha I really loved those dance moves you busted out during your ward's skit, too! That was quite a fun week, I must say...it's right up there with trek. :)

Camp Mia Shilom!! I love it. I want to go to girls camp. I have such fun memories there too. I tried to lobby my in to Young Womens, but i guess it doesn't work that way. I'm stuck in the Primary Presidency... Just Kidding... "stuck" is a harsh word. I love primary too, but I still want to go to girls camp.
