Forever changed....

Our sweet niece Rowan Sage Frazier returned to the loving arms of her Savior.

Words can't express the heart ache that the Frazier family (and all loved ones) have faced this past week and a half. Derek's brother Dennen and his beautiful wife Hilary lost their unborn baby girl, Rowan Sage Frazier at 32 weeks. Last Monday morning they found out the horrible news that their baby didn't have a heart beat, even though she had been moving the day before. Hilary delivered her on Tuesday morning. Derek and I had the wonderful opportunity to see that sweet angel whose spirit had returned to her Savior's arms but whose tender and beautiful body was laying in her parents arms. There are no words that can describe the feeling that was in the room other then pure reverence as Hilary and Dennen beautifully describe it. We will never forget it. Tears were shed as we looked at her little body. The feeling in that room was amazing. That special little girl changed all of us for the better. Her mother and father are incredible examples and there is no doubt that they will see their sweet angel again.
It has been a very rough and heart wrenching trial. I read f
rom someone who went through similar trial that "dark times and trials are important. Trials show us the beauty of God's comfort. It's through the comfort we receive from God during our difficult times that we learn how to comfort others. Sometimes the process of growing closer to our Heavenly Father comes along the path of heartache and pain." I think this experience has brought all of us that much closer to our Savior and Father in Heaven. It gave all of us a better eternal perspective on life and how to live our daily life. Again, this little girl has changed all of us for the better.

Our deepest love to Dennen and Hilary. They never imagined they would be carrying the casket and attending the funeral of their sweet daughter for whom they anxiously and lovingly waited.

Mother Hilary telling little Finn (big brother) about what is going on.
Hilary read a beautiful poem to her daughter.
Beautiful music sung and played by my friend, Amy LaMarr. She sang "A Living Prayer" by Alison Krauss. SO beautiful.
My husband Derek had the opportunity of reading Dennen's letter to his dear Rowan.

Finn pointing to the balloons
Aunt Britta and Emma placing flowers at the casket.

Little Thomas admiring the flowers.
I found Emma petting the casket. Isn't that sweet? I think she understood a little bit of what was going on.

beautiful last words from Dad's letter to Rowan:
...Your memory will remain with us as we pass through this existence. Knowing that you are waiting for our arrival on the other side will be a blessing and a motivation to your family throughout their lives. We love you Rowan.
Love,
Your Dad

Mandy, thank you so much for posting this. You'll never understand how much it means to us. You guys have been so loving and helpful to us during this rough time. Thanks for talking about Rowan. We want to talk about her, and are grateful when others do too.

I don't even know this family, but here I sit, in the dark, I just tucked my little 11 month old and kissed her...and tears are streaming down my face. I am sobbing just reading their story. I am heartbroken for their family. What an incredible challenge. Thank you for sharing this and the sacredness of it all. If anything, I will kiss my daughter once more time. Rowan, I don't know you, but I know you are loved.
