Dylan's Drum Solo

This is Derek posting. I just had to show off my little brother and his amazing drumming skills. Dylan's special ed class had a talent show last week at Canyon View Jr. High, so we carted his drum set over to the auditorium and set it up for him. He was so excited and proud to show off for his friends. He's pretty much the coolest little brother ever, and we're really proud of him.

time for some jeans!

Ok, so I hate trying to find jeans that fit me good, especially right now since I don't have much time or patience to go look around for a good pair of jeans that are a good fit and durable. For a few years now I've been happy with how Abercrombie jeans fit...I just DREAD going into that store with the BLASTING music, and the male and female pics of models posing everywhere you turn. I apologize if I offend anyone. Then they give you a bag that is just embarrassing to carry around, especially being a mother carrying this naked male model around. I had to drag Derek and Emma in there with me yesterday to try some jeans on that were on sale...Emma liked the loud music :)and Derek was bored out of his cranium. I think he hates being in that store as much as I do. Needless to say I had success finding a pair of jeans that fit swell. We made the trip very quick. For the future jean hunting, does anyone have any good suggestions of where to find some cute jeans that are a pretty good price, and durable?Derek has had a lot of fun doodling on the A F bag...I thought it was hilarious!

Derek's Birthday!!

Oh thank you babe! Well you definitely deserve it!! Emma and I surprised Derek by blind folding him and I drove us to the Provo Airport for Derek to go for a fly. He's had his private pilots license for about 8 years now but hasn't really flown since then. Every time we drive past an airport or see a specific kind of plane or jet of some sort, he loves it and could go on and on about the details of flying. :) He had SUCH a blast going for a fly with an instructor. Because the instructor knew that Derek had his pilot license he let Derek take over a lot more. What a day!! Emma loved the sound of the planes as you can tell in the picture above :)

Last but not least, we had an amazing lunch at the best restaurant ever...CHEESECAKE FACTORY!! That food is clearly delectible!!!

Mandy is the best!

I just wanted to publicly state that Mandy is the best wife ever. Yesterday was my birthday and she got me the perfect present, yet it was something I would have never thought to ask for. I don't have time to go into details right now, but I'm sure she'll make a post of it later. I love you babe!

Happy 8 months old!!

Emma had a very exciting weekend! Her new cousin Lucy just came into the world on Saturday afternoon. We are SO very excited that she's finally here. She got her toe nails painted while at a Young Women's activity with Mommy. She got her very first tutu and had fun wearing it while playing with Daddy. We went to see the amazing tulips down at Nielsen's park right by our house. They have thousands of tulips...gorgeous! Yesterday we got to see great Grandma and Grandpa Mills at their house and took some pictures by there beautiful blossom tree. Emma enjoyed eating and playing with the blossoms.
Today we were playing outside and she just learned to clap her hands for the very first time on her happy 8 month day. It was the cutest thing. I wish I had my camera, Derek has it right now. I had the video camera but of course she wouldn't do it when I was video taping her. It's amazing the excitement and joy a parent can have when their child hits their new stages and developments. WE LOVE YOU TO PIECES EMMA GIRL!!!
