Freee the ladybugs!

When summer began, we gave the kids a ladybug farm. After about a month of letting them take their course, it was time to set them free this morning.
The kids LOVED seeing them readily fly out of their farm and keep flying onto their shirts, hands, necks, and backs. It's like the ladybugs didn't want to leave our sides. :)

This one did not want to let go of us. It kept flying from one person to the other.
Here on Joseph's neck.
Now onto Thomas' head, that made him laugh hysterically.
Joseph still looking for more ladybugs on our tomatoes.

Thursday evening, July 10th 2014

The evening when Mom was alone with the munchkins, getting ready for bed.
I'm tired and grouchy.
Thomas remains in the bath tub while Emma is getting dressed.
Joseph frolics with no diaper after getting out of bath.
I'm tired.
I'm helping Thomas, I look back and see Joseph on stool, standing at bathroom sink.
Something dark just plopped on the floor.
It was poop coming out of Jo-Jo's bum. Awesome.
One minute later after wiping him all up and cleaning floor, I hear Thomas say, "I love bubbles." Then proceeds to toot in the water. Hilarious.
Emma is brushing her new stuffed doggy, Earl's teeth.
Now they want to "break dance" to some tunes just before bed.
I'm tired. :)

He answers...

What a story I'll remember for the rest of my life.
Last September, I discovered that my favorite scriptures were gone. I couldn't find them anywhere.
As I back tracked to when I had them last, it was at a baptism at beginning of August.
I go lots of baptisms with my calling as Primary President and I always have loads of items to bring to each of the baptisms.
That is the last time I remember seeing. I still to this day have  no idea what happened to them.
After discovering they were gone, I went through thick and thin searching leaders in the stake to help me find the building cleaner. I finally got a hold of them, they made it clear to me that they take everything to DI, about every couple months. I gave them the details of my scriptures and they don't recall seeing them.
Derek made phone calls to each of his customers that bought small white hondas from them during that time. All of them said, they never saw them.
The scriptures had my patriarchal blessing, letters from grandparents, all my scripture markings from my mission, they were sacred to me.
I was devastated for months. Anytime I was in our church building, I'd search lost and found, even when I was in other buildings, I'd look around.
Of course, my family and I prayed and prayed and prayed.
After all these months, nothing.
Then on June 10th, ten months after losing them I got a text from an old cousin of mine, Josh Phair.
He text me asking if he had the right cell number for his cousin Mandy Phair. I told him yes.
He went on to say that a lady named Wendy had contacted him telling him that she found some scriptures that belonged to an Amanda Jane Phair. She's had them for months but can't seem to get in touch with me.
Here's the story....
It turns out, Wendy Neville was in Provo for a wedding and stopped by D.I. to kill some time.
She saw this displayed leather quad scriptures and briefly looked in them. She told me how beautifully marked they were and saw a patriarchal blessing tucked inside as well. She didn't read any of the letters nor the blessing but knew these were very sacred and special to someone.
She thought either this person has died and someone just got rid of all my stuff or this person has left the church.
She bought the scriptures and went on her way back to Layton.
She found me on Facebook and sent me a private message that was sent to my "other" folder.
There is an "other" folder?
I had never opened that folder before and never knew it even existed.
She sent me that email back in September or October and never heard back.
During that time, the scriptures sat soundly on her shelf.
Time and time passed with no reply to her email on facebook.
She was teaching a lesson at church on the scriptures and as she was preparing her lesson, she again saw my scriptures sitting on her shelf. She felt strongly that she needs to continue finding this person who these scriptures belong to and took it to the next level.
She went back on my facebook and found two "friends" with my same last name, one being my cousin Josh. In May, she contacted Josh but didn't hear back from him until June 10th. He confirmed to her that he was my cousin and that he would find my number.
He found my number, gave it to her and that's when I got the wonderful phone call from Wendy.

You know what's beautiful about all of this? This has been a huge testimony builder to my family and I.
Emma and I were JUST having a conversation the night before after attending a "Baptismal Preview" that she came to with me.
While leaving the Stake Center she asked, "Mom, have you found your scriptures yet?"
I told her that I hadn't. I told her that I still pray to find them but sometimes Heavenly Father doesn't always answer our prayers the way WE want Him to.
He knows where they are and you just never know He has in store.
Maybe they landed in the hands of someone that really needed them more then me.
Maybe some day they will come back to me. He knows.
Then the next day happened.
What a beautiful miracle.
I hope that this is an experience my children will always remember.
Heavenly Father does answer prayers. He does care about things that are important to us and He is mindful of us.
He made it so my special scriptures landed in the hands of someone so wonderful, it was just going to take time getting us connected. :)
He is mindful of even the smaller things that are important to us.
Look at the notes that Emma and Thomas wrote to Wendy. :)

Oh how wonderful it is to have them back.
My case, mission badge, and mini hymnbook are gone, but my scriptures were most important to have. :)
Thank you, Wendy Neville.

AAARRGGHH!!

I haven't been feeling very good the past few days.
My friend, Jandee invited Thomas over today to play with her son, Gavin. Thomas and Gavin are the best of friends.
I heard some ruckus outside sounding like roaring and then heard a pounding on the door.
It was these two, cute little pirates! They were totally playing the part of pirates and were hilarious! She had them dressed up so fun.
Doesn't Thomas kind of look like Mr. Smee? :) hahahaha.
I love childhood!

Lemonade stand and sleepovers...

Sleepovers rarely  happen over here. We had a "late night" with cousin Lucy a couple weeks ago. As the time got later and later in the evening, my sister Pam and I decided to go ahead and let Lucy sleepover. The kids were overjoyed when they got word that suddenly their "late night" turned into a sleepover.
We went to Thomas' T-ball game, went for frozen yogurt, and came home to get ready for the night. We then popped popcorn and watched movie, "Charlotte's Web", our kids favorite movie right now.
It's just the beginning of lots of lemonade stands!
My little munchkins found a big toy that they REALLY wanted to save their money for.
It's called a Jungle Jumparoo!
They have been determined to earn a large portion of the money to buy this fun toy.
They painted a couple canvas', colored some pictures, and made some lemonade to sell. :)
Here are some pictures of them in the action! Lucy was here to help support and help with the little business. :)
See all their coloring pages lined up on the grass.

Reading machine!

(photo taken by my friend BriAnna at Postable Designs)

I seriously find this girl, reading in every corner of the house. She LOVES to read.
She got a book from the Book Fair at her school in May and got "Captain Underpants." She read the entire book in a couple hours. And has read it many times since then. I kind of hid the book for a while because I don't know how uplifting the book is. :)

I found her reading to her brother on the play set outside.
She reads while she eats. (Joseph wants some of her sandwich)
 Under the sun.
 After baths.
I love this picture. The last couple of times that we've visited Great Grandma Mills, she has taken time to read a story to Grandma. Grandma can't see and has a hard time hearing but seemed to enjoy being read to. I just really want my children to spend these last days and months with their Grandma and remember her. Remember how truly wonderful she is. She has always been one with such a sharp mind, the family documentor, etc...She can still tell you a very detailed family history story but has a hard time remembering what happened ten minutes before. I hope that doesn't sound disrespectful in any way toward my Grandma. I just stand in amazement at the detail she can still remember of important things like family history.

I hope Emma and all our children will keep the love of learning and reading with them, always!

Flowers, leaves and such

I love it when my kids bring me little nature's treasures. I think on a daily basis, Thomas is bringing me rocks, leaves from trees, dandelions, and flowers. I love it and am savoring these little sweet moments.
I had a hard day last week and Emma knew it. I got home from a long day and she was waiting outside, holding a yellow rose she found in our yard and was excited to give it to me.
What sweeties we have, Derek. I just love them.
