Museum of Natural Curiosity

Thanksgiving Point just opened a new children's museum this week.
We decided to invite cousin Lucy and take all the kids to the museum last night.
That place is HUGE with SO many different sections and activities. We were only able to go through the "Rain Forest" but look forward to going back soon.

The kids could dress themselves in African clothing.
Joseph wore his the whole time we were in the market. Hilarious and SO cute.
Not sure how Thomas felt about wearing it. :)
 Joseph still wearing his.

He wanted me to open the pretend banana so he could eat it.
In the next room, there were microscopes with different things to look at like beetles. Pretty cool.
They had rope brides through out the Rain Forest. They got a little tricky to climb on at times, but they pulled through. Thomas and Joseph climbed up to this airplane.

We'll be heading back very soon. I'm so glad we chose to get the season passes. :)

Pirate day!

Miss Emma was VERY excited for Pirate day at school.
She reminded me last night of the theme. We gathered what we had. I may or may not have stayed up really late to make Emma and Thomas some felt hooks. :)
I've been meaning to finish them for a while so I figured, why not now.
She was so excited to dress up this morning.
She even said, "If I dress like the pirate all day, maybe I'll turn into one"....
Then she went on to say, "If I don't become the other things I want to be when I grow up, I want to be a pirate." :)
Sure love her.
Each Friday she gets to ride to the bus stop on the A.T.V. if she is on time to the bus every day that week. It's one of her favorite times of the week.
I can't believe it's already the end of the school year. Where did the time go?
It's definitely bittersweet. I am having a hard time with Emma going to second grade next year. I was still trying to get used to her being in first grade and now it's coming to an end.
She's had a WONDERFUL teacher and year. It was a leap of faith having her skip Kindergarten, but I'm glad we did. She still remains to be at the top of her class in reading and math.
Her teacher, Miss Hull reports to me often at how well she does academically and socially in her class. She really is everyone's friend. We're proud of her.

Locomotive in Ogden

Derek had a truck to drop off to someone in Ogden, Utah. We found out that one of the largest locomotives would be stopped in Ogden, so we made it a family trip. The locomotive was built in the 1940's. The thing was HUGE! You can only get a slight glimpse of the massive machine in pictures.
There were TONS of people.

(picture taken May 5, 2014)

Since we dropped the truck off to the buyers, we took the front runner train back to American Fork.
There were some jets that flew over us. Daddy is showing Thomas as they're coming right over us.
The train ride was fun for the first 30 minutes, then it became a little crazy as more and more people got on, and Joseph was not having it.
Emma getting her homework done.
After the train, we rushed down to my niece, Lucy's dance performance.
She did such a great job!

Mother's Day- 2014

What a Mother's Day!
I love my husband. I love how he and my children are so thoughtful in making Mommy's day special.
Here is a picture of the clan with the breakfast before bringing it up to my bed.

After they brought it up, Joseph immediately got up the bed and joined me in eating the yummy heart shaped strawberries. :) They also made one of my favorites, Biscuits and Gravy.
I really am so blessed. I am thankful for them for making me a mother.
I'm thankful for their love, patience, forgiveness, and kindness.
I love them so much.
I came downstairs and found these goodies on the table. Letters from Thomas and Emma, candy they picked out for me:), a potted plant, and basil plant. Thomas also made a cute picture from Preschool and gave me a plant. Emma was excited to give me Marigold seeds with a sweet note, along with a plant she's already planted. I'll post those pictures soon.
After a busy day at church, the children finished up their stepping stones for Grandmas'.

Then we went over to visit Great Grandma Mills while my parents were there.
Grandma Phair really enjoyed the stepping stone and plant.
We gave great Grandma Mills some yummy vanilla grapefruit jam. Her appetite has been really struggling lately and so hopefully the sweetness will be yummy to her.

The four generations. I am really holding on to these last days with Grandma Mills. Life if so precious.  I want my children to know who their great Grandmother is and the life she had.
I got a picture a while back of Emma reading to Great Grandma, I'll need to find that one.
Derek got a picture of me just talking to my Grandma. I was asking how she was feeling. She doesn't sound like she's feeling very well. She did have a busy day with lots of visitors and she is 92 years old. I love her.

We didn't get pictures at Oma's and Great Grandma Olsen's. :( If I come across some on my phone, I'll post them soon.

Happy Mother's Day!

Went "on a Bear Hunt" last night!

Last night Derek, Emma, and Thomas camped out last night...on a school night...Just because.
Here they are helping Daddy get the tent set up.

We sang "Going on a Bear Hunt" together!

I wonder what Thomas is thinking right here.

Tulip Festival-2014

We were excited to make a quick and last minute trip to the Tulip Festival at Thanksgiving Point this year.
They were absolutely gorgeous!

Look how cute this little munchkin is. I can't believe he is already 18 months.

Derek getting ready to lift all three kids at the same time...just for fun! :)
 And they're off!
We went for a Sundae after the tulips. Look at Joseph eye that Sundae.

Look who lost her 4th tooth!

She has wanted this top tooth out for about a week and begged every night for Derek to tie a string on her tooth and connect it with a door and shut it.
Derek tried a different technique with floss and didn't have success the first attempt, last Sunday.
She was still adamant to get this tooth out and asked Derek again and again the next night.
He tried it again with the floss and it finally popped out! WHAT A RELIEF!
She's a happy girl.
The tooth fairy brought her another gold dollar coin in her fairy pillow.
