Thanksgiving Point farm fun!

Today I took the kids to Thanksgiving Point farm after picking Emma up from school. We invited Hilary, Finn, Margo, and Oma to come with. I'm so glad we could spend some of these last few weeks with Aunt Hilary and cousins before they move back to Maine.
The weather was perfect.
First, were the goats and Llamas. The kids got a kick out of the goats. Emma kept quoting her lines for her "Billy Goats Gruff" play this Friday. (She's the extra large Billy Goat.)
Thomas and Finn were running all over having SUCH a great time. They're such great buddies.
Joseph kept growling at all the animals but he LOVED looking at them.

 Pony rides!

Joseph kept wanting to climb on the wooden tractor. He's getting SO big!

And at last the cows...and not just looking and petting them....

 but MILKING them too!

Funny little story.
While we were in the indoor play area, Emma made a friend with another little girl.
She went and introduced herself to the Mom of this little girl.
The Mom came up to me later and told me that Emma introduced herself as Emma Rumpelstiltskin but other people know her as Emma Jane. Bahahahhahaha! That girl!
She has really enjoyed that Rumpelstiltskin story lately but that is plain hilarious!

Anyway, it was a great day!

Little Lucy Lindahl's 5th Birthday!

This sweet little angel, Lucy Lindahl's 5th Birthday is today.
It was such a difficult time for our neighborhood and friends when she died in a drowning accident two years ago in April.
So many lives were touched by this little girl and her family.
She will forever be in our family's thoughts.
Last year for her birthday, I made her family a birthday wreath to hang up on their door the week of her birthday.
We love Lucy and will forever be touched by her.
We love you Lucy and Lindahl family!
We wanted to wake up extra early this morning to bring pink balloons (her favorite color)and flowers to the Lindahl's house. We tried being quiet enough so we didn't wake them.
We want them to know that we love and miss Lucy and want to celebrate her life with them.

Morning fun!

This is how we woke up this morning. We heard little giggles coming from Joseph's room.
We went in and found ALL three kids in his crib.
I tell ya, Joseph is one lucky little brother to have an older brother and sister who can't get enough of him.
I love them.

P.S. notice the green blanket over edge of his crib? That was put up to avoid his chewing and gnawing on his crib. Stinker!

St. Patrick's 2014

A few days before St. Patrick's day, Emma and Thomas were on a search for the leprechauns.
They searched throughout the house with their magnifying glass and "telescope."
 (March 13th 2014)

They took a walk outside in the neighborhood, looking for them.
This is serious business.

 Looking in the sprinkler boxes.
Getting their second leprechaun trap ready.
(March 15th, 2014)

Emma wanted the leprechauns comfortable when they're stuck in their trap so she stitched a little blanket and pillow for them.

All the drawings and notes they put on the trap!
Night before, getting the three traps ready to go.

 Sure love them.
This was this morning. Thomas and Emma trying to figure out what happened and how these leprechauns escaped. They were happy to receive a note and some chocolate gold coins from the lucky leprechauns.
"thank you for the coins you left in your cool traps.
Oh and for the cozy bed and pillow.
It was tricky for me and my friends
to get out but with lots of hard work,
we did it. Enjoy some treats.
From, Lucky Leprechauns"

Someone didn't want their picture taken before his morning breakfast.

Our St. Patty din din tonight.

Happy St. Patrick's Day 2014!!

Geocaching!!

Derek, Emma, and Thomas have really enjoyed going geocaching for a little over a year now. They haven't been able to go over the winter but now that it's getting warmer, they're off on their adventures again. :)
Tonight, we went to find a couple on our hike up by our house, at Battle Creek canyon.
When we got out of our car, we could hear a girl singing "Let it go" from Frozen. The kids were so excited to hear her singing it, they ran up to sing with her. :)
On our hike to find our first geocache.
 Found it!

 Found our second one!
Someone got very tired but Mommy loves the snuggles.

Planting seeds

This week, Thomas and Emma planted some wheat grass seeds.
Thomas loved getting his hands dirty the most.

They're growing splendid. :)
