The "Man Cold"

So all three of us have been sharing this cold for the past couple weeks. Emma and Mandy got it first and I was lucky to avoid it for quite a while. It finally caught up with me this week.

The result looked something like this:

The continuing saga of Floyd the fish. . .

As was noted in the comments of the previous post, Petsmart does indeed have a 2 week lifespan guarantee on their fish.
So Saturday night we came home with Floyd the Second. He's been with us three days so far and we haven't managed to kill him yet.

Of course Emma loves him. She looks for her fish every morning and during every meal.

This betta swims around much more than the other one which just lay on the bottom of the bowl most of the time. I think our first one was a lemon.

Goodbye Floyd...

Soooo... we did everything that the girl at Petsmart told us to do, yet Floyd departed with this earthly realm today.
We were sad :(
Will Petsmart give us another fish?

Emma meets her ancestors....

hahaha, as many of you know..our little Emma LOVES dinosaurs! Ever since she was about 5 months, she has had the talent of growling :) We have called her our little dinosaur most of her life thus far. Daddy and Emma have been pretty much home bound for about a week because Emma has been sick with a virus but is getting better. Yesterday we got out of the house and went to the 'Earth Science' museum at BYU. She LOVED it!! Right when we walked in, she started growling like crazy and pointing to all the cool dinosaur pictures and fossil skeletons. It was so fun watching her.
She kept saying, "teeth" pointing to their teeth.

Here she is growling.

looking at the display cases

They had a mural of dinosaurs. This one was kind of grusome if you look closely. hhmmmppphhh!

CIRCUS!!

We went to the Circus last night at the Mckay Events Center with some friends and Derek's brother Dylan. It was fun! Emma loved seeing the elephants, tigers, lions, dogs, and the acrobatic people. This is a picture of her just before the show began. She just loved looking over at the elephants. :)
You could pay to ride on the elephants. We chose to just stand and look at the elephants, Emma was thrilled. You could just see those gadgets turning in her cute head.
She wasn't as much happy when the show was starting with all the screaming from the audience, the announcer being loud, and blasting music. She's not too used to that kind of loudness.
She was fine after a couple minutes.
They had acrobatic people. This chick was a real live gumby. She was MAYBE 16 years old.
This part got me a little nervous. They placed the lion and tiger cage right in front of us. I was incredibly and obnoxiously nervous. It's not like the zoo where there is a HUGE and thick piece of plexy glass between the tiger and yourself. This was just a little cage. I kept having images in my head of "what if's." "What if the tiger or lion, got out of there, I probably would hover over my family, put Emma under the chair..." I know...ridiculous. I don't know why I was so nervous. The lady standing by the cage had made the lions riled up, hearing there growling didn't help my nervousness. Emma loved growling at them the whole time. The white tiger was so beautiful. They all were.
It was cool to see them in action, but it was just hard seeing these wild animals be dominated. I'll talk more about that in a minute.
Emma growling and being very attentive toward the wild cats.
This was cute, there were pink and blue poodles putting on a cute show, from walking on a rolling beam, to riding on a razor.
They had two beautiful elephants that were incredible. The chick could of covered herself more. hahaha. Yeah, the girls were barely wearing anything, not much more than an eye patch. I guess they had to "put on a show"
Here's Derek, Emma, and Emma's Uncle Dylan having a great night. Emma loves her Uncle Dylan.
Overall, it was a great night. It was fun seeing Emma and all of her reactions to the entertainment. That makes it fun!
But Derek and I felt sad for the animals. It was sad to see such power and magnificent animals being dominated by one soft, squishy human. I don't know if I want to know how they train and discipline the animals.
