34 Weeks!!

WOW!! It has been quite the last couple days! We have been trying to get things ready for our little girl to come in nearly 6 weeks....good gravy! On Monday, Derek and I went to Babies R Us to order a glider that we thought needed to be shipped and all. Well, they ended up having one in stock in the back. We were stoked, but at the same time we weren't quite sure how we would get that HUGE box home considering we only had our little Toyota Camry. Derek asked the manager if we could borrow their dolley since we live about 3 blocks away from the store. He let us use it. Bless Derek's heart, he lugged this HUGE and heavy box on a dolley three blocks. It was so cute, I was laughing so hard as I was driving next to him slowly, watching him as he pushed it along the way. Not only that, but he also had to get the dolley and box up the stairs at our condo...there was only so much I could do. hehehe, he was awesome. We finally got it into our home successfully and the glider is amazingly comfortable. We will be using it ALOT when she gets here, it's important that it's comfortable for those late hours all throughout the night...looking forward to that :)
Then yesterday, the 24th we came home from a Pioneer Day breakfast and found the crib shipment at our front door. HOLY COW we weren't expecting it to come that quick considering we just ordered it last week and it usually takes a few weeks. SO...Derek used his amazing assembling skills and put the crib together in about an hour and a half. I tried to help as much as I could. He loves assembling things. He compares it to his childhood of always loving to put together legos. :) I on the other am not the patient and skilled one in assembling, especially something as complex as a crib. Way to go sweetie!! As you can see everything came together and we are almost set for our little girl to come, as far as furniture goes. Don't get me wrong, there is still MUCH to do. :) But it's a great relief to have the furniture here. That's a couple big checks off our list :) I was joking around last night saying, "what if this is 'someone' preparing us to get ready quick because she'll end up coming early and that's why this stuff is coming so quick." ...hmmmm, we'll just have to wait and see :) She'll come when she's ready.

Derek does such a great job!!
The crib is great, it has a drawer on the bottom. After all, we need all the storage space possible for the little room.

Well...34 weeks! As I've said before, time is FLYING! So many women that I've talked to who are pregnant or who have been pregnant keep saying, "doesn't it just drag on?" Umm...I haven't felt like that. It's gone by WAY fast. She continues growing day by day. I feel her move alot more frequently, which is a blast. And of course she continues to be more in my right rib. :) The braxton hicks continue to exist and are happening alot more frequently as well, on average about 10 every two hours. It's still rough getting good sleep, but that's all part of the fun of pregnancy I guess. I've been to the Cardiologist and so far so good. They ran an Echo ultrasound on my heart..looks good. They wired me up and monitored me for 24 hours last Thursday and Friday, I felt like a robot with all these wires hooked on me. I'll find out the results of that test this week. I think I'm fine, I know the baby is. They just want to be safe and run the tests to make sure my episodes haven't been related to my heart. I think it's just the baby sitting on a big vein or sitting on the big nerve by my spinal area called a "Vegal Response" that causes the episodes. Although, I haven't been having any major ones lately, so that's good. Derek's been taking me to work, which is good to be safe...don't want anymore blackouts on the freeway on my way to work. :) I would like the Cardiologist appointments to cease considering they aren't finding anything too serious. I just say, "let me get through it this next 6 weeks." So that's the update on that. We are excited for 'little' to come.
Some of Mandy's TOP CRAVINGS!!
1.) POPSICLES- I can't get enough of them
2.) Korean Food- I have LOVED it my WHOLE pregnancy. Can we say "Kimchi?"
3.) Costco hot dogs
4.) 'Bottomless Pit' and never ending bowls of cereal- especially honey nut cheerios, life, and honey bunches of oats..mmmm
5.) STRAWBERRY LIMEADES from Sonic
6.) Last but not least.....ready for this?.....the SMELL OF TIRES. Don't ask!! Let me expand on that a little bit. I've always liked the smell of new tires, but it's INCREASED IMMENSLEY since I've been pregnant. It's out of control. Derek and I will walk into Costco, and I'll go straight to the auto section. mmmm....tires!! Derek gets such a kick out of it, we both just laugh. Now, you tell me...is that normal? WOW it's weird.

Creepin' on the Heber Creeper

On Friday I took a relaxing day off of work to spend some time with my wonderful hubby! Derek and I have been wanting to go on the Heber Creeper for a long time now. He's been before but I never had. I know, you'd think living here for almost 15 years that I would have experienced it already...nope!! It was lots of fun on the way out to Vivian Park where we ended and then it took us back up to Heber. The ride back wasn't as comfortable with the heat and all. But we made it and it was fun!

Happy 4th of July!!

We had so much fun on the 4th of July! We kept the tradition of going to the Provo Parade, but this year was especially special. My Grandpa was recognized at the Freedom Festival and was also in the parade along with my Grandma. He's cruisin' in style in the Cadillac. Way to Grandpa!!

Freedom Festival Gala!

Grandpa Mills serving in World War II. Here he is in front of the Arc De Triomph in Paris.

My Grandpa Mills was recognized at the America's Freedom Festival at BYU on Saturday evening along with a few other people. Grandpa is a World War II veteran who was awarded for his service on Saturday evening. It was a big night for ALL the family to support Grandpa. He was interviewed about his experiences in war and was also asked to speak to everyone that evening. It was such a wonderful event. We are so grateful for all that Grandpa did. We are so proud of Grandpa!!
